Eric Liu: Mindfulness is a process that all of us can work on. It's an aspect of your brain and like any of your mental health or cognitive functions. We have to do that to get things done, right? I can't do a math equation and think about what I should get my kids for Christmas and focus on my patient, write the prescriptions and do my list and be myself. So mindfulness is more than just some hydration and a little nutrition, but it's something that can draw and focus my attention.
In this Episode, We Discuss How to Eat for Better Mental Health and…
- The emerging field of nutritional psychiatry and why it's so important
- Simple strategies to enhance mental health and prevent mental health problems
- How exercising and eating well are the most powerful antidepressants
- Why healthier brains lead to less conflict, more love, and more laughter
- Why we tend to overcomplicate nutrition when it is actually quite simple
