We don't hear about this stuff because it doesn't scare us. In a world of personalized news feeds, the world that we're living in now, almost all of the news that penetrates is news that feels very novel or surprising or concerning. The stories that i'm seeing are shaped by who i am and what google and facebook and twitter know about me,. rather than being, like, objectively the news.
