The White Possession Moment

Settler colonial state tried to assert its dominance through what Elaine Martin Robinson would call the white possessive. This is where the invading group tried to make the country that they're occupying into a white possession. It can happen materially through dispossession and enclosure. And I guess we kind of see the flag moment. So requiring all government schools to fly the Australian flag, a symbol of national sovereignty - it's quite a potent symbolic moment.
