The Importance of Tactlessness
She was often tactless. She often made mistakes. There's a very famous case about integration, an article on Little Rock where she is on the wrong side of history. But I think these come out of her, you know, from her deep engagement in her thought and in civic society. It's also true that she became seen as a great sort of cold warrior because she was so opposed to totalitarianism. And that also put her on certain side of debates that she might not naturally have been on.
