The Temple Legend and the Evolution of Freemasonry

The basis for the whole of Freemasonry is to be found in the Temple legend concerning Hiram of Biff, says Rudolf Steiner. He draws a direct line from mythology and folklore of the Rosicrucien order which sprung up in the late 15th century to Freemasonry in terms of their biblical myths. "We are led to a kind of Genesis, or theory of evolution of the human race," he writes.
