The Importance of Blessing Over the Performance of a Command
Blessing over the performance of a command is a way of showing that we're acting intentionally, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach says. The Torah explicitly says that though the kavanim say the words, it's God who sends the blessing, he adds. To be blessed is to know that we are loved by the one vasted in the universe, writes Boteach. "All we need to know is that his face is turned toward us"
