"There is this this impulse to say that like maintenance of the status quo is what the good guys do revolution is what the bad guys do and that's because these maps of narrative that we have been talking about are not neutral observations of the way that story works they are ideological constructs," she said. "I think it's fun to think about the ways that this book both wants to be a hero's journey and doesn't want to be ahero's journey you know the way that it is still participating in and perpetuating those ideologies while at the same time being really suspicious of notions of heroism"
