The Bank of England's Inflation Pledge
The Bank of England has a reasonable defense, but it just has to get out there and say things maybe a bit more clearly. It'd be much better if they said, look, these are mistakes with hindsight. And I think the bank would be wise to go a bit more in that direction. Chris,. obviously, Rishi Sunak at the beginning of the year set out as his first of the five priority pledges that he would have inflation. And was that completely irresponsible? Does he have any levers in his power to actually achieve that? And is it looking likely that it will halve?
