The Compulsion to Perform
I like talking about what we get out of performing and why it's wired in us. I think a lot of performer types fill myself under that umbrella. All families are weird. And there's not one family that's not so twisted. But for me, I was like the spastic kid who wouldn't go to bed when mom had dinner guests over. You have a tiny stopwatch to make sure you don't go over 90 minutes. That was your three hours back then. So that's your work ethic and I understand that. Where's the compulsion though?
