The Maniac Machine, a Hydro Mechanical Analogue Computer
The moniac was a hydro mechanical analogue computer of the 19 fifties. Moniac could be set up in a few different configurations, but the most documented was a simple simulation of national economies. This specific model had variables for income taxation, surplus balances, federal reserve, domestic expenditures, foreign held balances and the ominous international monetery fund. These were all variables that could be monitored, numbers that could be read out and watched for changes.
