The Unforgiving Consequences of Writing Unpopular Things
I knew going into the project that whatever we published was going to be denounced by the New York Times, the Washington Post and MSNBC. So involuntarily, I became a character in the news, and that was not fun. There was a whole genre on YouTube of videos going after me and calling me a sellout. But part of what journalism is is you have to be prepared to say unpopular things and deal with all that stuff.
