What Does a Strong Dollar Do to the Economy?

Many economists have stated that this quarter's projected positive GDP is largely due to the falling of imports of foods industrial supplies and other goods as was just said here. Economists such as Daniel Silver at JP Morgan have said while the trade deficit has narrowed substantially in Q3 we think that the stronger dollar will push the deficit wider over time. A strong dollar helps reduce import price inflation and taking you know a level of inflationary pressure off the Fed I mean we see the bond market coming off the earlier losses partly because the price component of GDP came down much lower than expected.
