The state has in fact regulated medical care for minors quite explicitly and comprehensively. But there is also the case that parents have traditionally had a right to avail themselves of legal treatments without interference from the state. The question is, should that treatment be legal? And does the state have the authority to make it illegal? That's what the question is.
