There was another mass protest movement that erupted in 2019. Iran has become an incredibly powerful, but increasing, but over time, an increasingly resented player ironically because the US opened the door for that by invading Iraq and then ongoing events in Afghanistan. There is just a lot of economic precarity, a lot of discontent and of course that's deeply implicated with political discontent and demands. And we can't get into detail in this, but as Condor mentioned, there are indeed big events in Syria, Iran is decisive in defending the Assad regime.
