Are There Inherent Vulnerabilities Within Democracies?

The global democratic recession is this decline in both the number of democracies and the level of freedoms within democracies around the world. This trend has been traced since 2006 so we're actually in the 15th consecutive year of the democratic decline. The vulnerabilities which democracies are experiencing I would argue that they are largely a product of our own creation. It is those self-inflicted wounds on democracy that I suspect have done the most damage. Put simply the global democratic Recession is on the precipice of crisis, it is really that serious.
