The Advantages of Remote Hearings for Barristers
The art of persuasion that of the barrister. You want to maintain the focus of your audience which is usually a judge or in a case with a jury the jury and anything which you can do which helps to hold their attention I think is a positive. Another advantage of the remote technology which we can't do in the courtroom is the ability to share your screen. If you're a barrister from a diverse background for whom the courtroom is particularly an intimidating environment, the intimacy of the online hearings can be an advantage. There are some for whom the new ways of working have had real advantages and advantages that older practitioners tend to discount in importance.
