The Almanac and the Humoral System

In a way, the almanacs participate in a cosmology, which was pretty much universal. The idea is that you can define anything, and I mean anything, on the basis of certain characteristics. And that was related to the human body. So you had four basic, you know, humoral properties within the body, blood. You had a phlegm and then you had yellow bile and black bile. This was a system that informed and it informed medicine in Europe as well.
