Turing didn't want to measure consciousness, he wanted machines that could emulate behavior but never dealt with the internal experience. So what we're trying to do is train the oil droplets to be like crabs. Give them an internal representation and integrate information from the environment. They remember the past, are in the present and can imagine a future. And in a very limited way, that kind of game engine allows them to then make a decision. Here are objects across time.
