Episode 109: John Beebe
Speaking of Jung: Interviews with Jungian Analysts
The Irony of Young's Intuition
Yung's irony has yet to be adequately interpreted well that gets into the parts of yung that are so hard to talk about. Yung talks about Africans who are cave dwellers he talks about them as if they had no consciousness and that they only had instinct but unfortunately they didn't have any will which would enable them to direct their consciousness. He tells a very hilarious story where he tries to get an African runner to take a letter to a quite a number of kilometers away. Dr Beebe: Young is ironic in the sense that he doesn't pretend himself to be on top of consciousness he's in the midst of the problem. I think we're gonna have to leave it right there
