Dave White found handwritten lyrics to a song by John Prine called Sweet Revenge in Jeff Ward's desk. Dave thought the FBI needed to know about these lyrics and took it to the FBI. But when Dave actually went in front of the grand jury to testify, the prosecutor didn't want to hear anything about his theories. A lot of the sleuthing in the Unibom case involved chasing down hunches and tiny scraps of information.
