Why Celebrities Aren't Moral Exemplars, Right?
Celebrities aren't normal. Like they don't live normal lives. And the way that we should think about the sort of moral situations that they're in are just not the kinds of situations we're likely ever to be in. So even for well-meaning lives who like spend their time thinking about like celebrating like morally righteous actors or whatever and then denigrating those who are not, I don't know that there's much value in that. The whole idea of focusing on celebrities as moral exemplars seems in various ways to be fraught.
