Is the Super Core Getting Worse?
December was the seventh month in a row where year over year headline CPI declined, but it barely declined. It only declined by one tenth. And this may in fact be the trough of that so-called disinflation because maybe in the month of February, we're going to print a number north of 6.4. The same might be true for the core. You take out food and energy. Once you take those out, there's really not that much left.
