The Contractor's Thumbs Up and the Woman's Question
The woman's testimony that she asked the contractor, is it safe to use my deck for a while? And the woman's description of the contractor's thumbs up in response. Neither piece of evidence seems to make any fact of consequence more or less likely. But what about if we consider both pieces of evidence together? That's an example of conditional relevance. Each piece of evidence is relevant, if combined with a further piece of evidence.
