Cuba and the Bay of Pigs

In 19 60, the last year of dwight eisenhauer's presidency, he authorized c i a to start ning cuban exiles to overthrow castro. This led in april of 19 61, just three months after j f k's inauguration, to the disastrous bay of pigs invasion. Operation mongoose did lots of stuff, and will be talking about it in future. But most of their efforts weren't paying off. So some of the leaders thought, wll look, we need to deal with the cuba problem before the nation is firmly planted in the soviet sphere. And since our other efforts aren't paying off, maybe we should just do the
