Taxing Windfall Profits Makes Perfect Sensibility
World oil prices are up over 30% since the start of the invasion. Wholesale electricity prices have skyrocketed to almost $500 today, a 500% increase. As prices rise at the pump, so do profits for oil and gas companies. This is just a lazy 40 bill in the back but look what I found under the couch here. They didn't even have to work for. Well, literally it's a windfall. And that's why economists like windfall taxes.
