The Russians Really Enjoy Lie and Telling the Truth
Putin has a certain sense of veracity to it because he considers himself God. They can claim what in the law world is called force majeure. It's not our fault. This was an act of God. And so they like giving anti-communists just enough fuel to say the Russians are lying, but also give pro-communistsjust enough fuel to saying the Russians are telling the truth. The KGB had this weird sort of gift for lying so brazenly because it considered the truth just another part of the informational battle space.
