The original plan involved a plane, three vans, and the school bus. The kidnappers would fly to the ransom money spot where they had put in. Fred decided if the police knew it was him, he was going to leave the country and go to Canada. Jim and Rick were going to do the same thing, but they couldn't find new identities.
