Children's books in particular it's always quite really strange to me that people should be looking to myths for kind of moral parables or examples of what to do I think almost myths are there to show us what not to do a lot of the time. It seems so many just of arbitrary decisions by gods and goddesses it seems quite random as you said like why should she suffer because one gods just made it decision one day. Women have a much more prominent place in myth than they do in any of this of the written histories we think of the works of tasters or orators women are a lot more prominent in the myths than they are in histories.
