Do you worry that doing parody and satirizing these people, there is a kind of an indulgence there that almost sort of lets them off the hook? I think sometimes you can be caustic. One of the most successful things I wrote was about Boris Johnson's unfortunate habit of scratching his arse the whole time. And once you see it, you can't answer it. His hand is always back down the back of his trousers. Somebody else who won't want to be attributed pointed out to me that he does this. Once you see it,. you can’t answer it.
