The Language of Obligation and Commitment
Oftentimes, the vocabulary of such movements is rooted in a sense of you are obligated. I especially see it alive and well in communities that are connected to narratives of social justice or justice more generally. It's fascinating that American Jews can be simultaneously compelled by a language of obligation in one direction,. But maybe need to be a little bit persuaded on thelanguage of obligation in a slightly different sphere.
