The Resource Curse

There's something called the resource curse economists have been talking about for a while people never talked about this when I was growing up but now suddenly people are aware. In many countries poor countries that are resource rich the general population as a whole remains poor while a group of elites become enormously wealthy. We're complicit in that helping to make it happen and we should read Linda Poitman's book on humanitarian aid which describes how aid agencies are often complicit in these terrible terribly dense agree often they know it and they cover it up. Goma is the most striking terrible ethical disaster and maybe in the history of international aid unbelievably bad your listeners if they read nothing else of that book should be the once-
