The Role of the Private Sector in Maritime Security
The US has worked with equatorial Guinea on these issues of maritime security, combating piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. You do see equatorial Guinea participating in regional military exercises and included in a lot of these maritime security fora. The question then is the follow through. As a society that is pretty closed, a government that has pretty free-range to choose policies and partners, sometimes the second steps are what is missing.
