I try to identify in the process of asking them about the big things they do, i try to ask why they made the decisions they made. I'm looking for them to have a really clear explanation of the logic for it. One thing to remember is you're building a team. It's not just individuals. So you want to think of it like constructing a portfolio. A good leadership team for a company is going to have different perspectives, different backgrounds. In my view, you want a mix of people who are the super strong up in comers mixed with people who have deep experts and seen a bunch of radios before.
