Hillmar hasn't released the design yet. It functions in a way like a store of value, almost like a super currency where you will have the token as well as an in-game currency. The token isn't necessary and the token can be acquired through play, but it has some interesting properties that are acquired through ownership. You're incentivized to buy it because it provides you with certain benefits in the game that don't necessarily make it competitively unbalanced.
