Transnational Repression - What's in the Hands of Congress?
Isabelle: If you can get members from both sides of the aisle to agree on the importance of pushing back against some of these transnational repression tactics, what are the things Congress can focus on? Nate Isabel: The reauthorization of Glomag is incredibly important because it's set to sunset in I think next year at this point. And beyond that, Congress needs to make sure there is sufficient funding in order to be able to actually enforce the Global Magnitsky Act. Freedom House calls for expanded efforts in law enforcement training and in civil society awareness of and action against transnational repression.
