The difference between a religion and a cult is time. If a belief system is incapable of constant malleability, constantly evolving to match the ever changing needs of the community, that religion goes away. Zoroastrianism was one time the largest empire in the world. And now there are maybe a couple of hundred thousand zoroastrians left. But i think there's another aspect to this question, which is this, you know, philosophy deals with us a lot. It's the difference between subjective truth and objective truth. So at the end of the day, we're all going to die - will either wake up in some other state of being, or it will just be lights out
