The Symbolism of the Buddha
Varochana is one of the so-called five jjani Buddhas and he usually occupies the center of the five Buddha mandala. He's shown holding his emblem which is a golden wheel with eight spokes just like the beams of the sun going in all directions of space. The throne the lotus throne on which Varochana is sitting is supported by lions this is reminiscent of what is called the Buddha's lion raw singonada, says Ravi Agrawal.
