We ran on some super computers at a lawrence livermore national laboratory. Some of my collaborators at the time took a an application that they hade been working on and they ported it to use this system. So we did used the prototype to run on some large systems. And i know from talking to people after, say, setation i gave at a sippicon some years ago, that there are other people who have experimented with using the implementation in more production like settings.
