All right. The biggest one, Rose, this is directly for you. All right. Light switches. So
Speaker 3
you don't like my American switches? What's
Speaker 2
wrong? I've wished I could go in on Lutron. Like I think their products are fantastic. They're only getting better over time. Their newer switches are even more awesome. But there is like, it seems to be a way to get a very basic version of Kaseyta here, but it's incredibly expensive and can only be installed by professionals. So yeah, I wanted to like Lightwave. I know is the company here, Rose, and I've heard you spoke about them on the one future on previous episodes. But in looking around online, I've seen some mixture of you. Are you running their products and what ones are you using? How do you like them, that kind of thing?

what I've actually done for most of my light switches is a full disclosure is I bought light switch covers off Amazon that cover the whole light switch. And I just put a few remotes in there because my lights, I don't press buttons. I walk into a room and it lights up automatically, you know, depending on time of day, light levels, etc. And so for me, a lot of the time, just, you know, a standard like hue button in there, just in case I need different lighting is fine. And I did actually buy a light wave light switch. And I have to say, I really liked it apart from one fairly significant flaw for my kitchen light, which was my kitchen light is not dimmable. And the light wave light switches need dimmable lights, because otherwise they flicker. So if I hadn't literally just like a week before replaced my kitchen light, then I would have stuck with the light wave and just upgraded the kitchen light because it would be quite useful to be able to dim that. But as it is, what I ended up doing in the kitchen was I actually went to Akara, who we've already talked about today, because Akara have light switches as well. And because so my kitchen lights just a standard on off light, and it doesn't have a neutral, unless your your place is very new, it probably won't. I got the Akara H1 no neutral light switch, which is about switch, so you press it and it turns it on or turns it off depending on, you know, what what what it currently is statewide. But that is what worked really well for me. And you know, I really like that as a light switch. Now my parents have been looking at getting some some smart light switches, because they are finally coming on to the but we can do both press buttons and have smart controls. And then when we get home, lights will turn on and we won't have to come in through the through the front door in the dark. And so they are looking at a combination of the Akara stuff and the light wave stuff Akara, because we've already got Akara stuff set up for them and light wave, because they are also thinking, well, you know, maybe maybe now's the time to get dimmable lights that we can't just turn on and off. So yeah, I mean, it really depends on what kind of light switches you want, but both Akara and light wave, of course, a home kit compatible. So whichever you get, you'll be able to turn lights on and off with home kit.

I think light wave is going to be where we end up going, because we we're going to continue having you in lamps. But we have, you know, like, like many homes in the UK, because like homes, we have just have like tons of spotlight bulbs. And it's like, I'm not going to put one of those bulbs in all of those. Yeah, because I like to be able to feed my family as well as you don't want to spend it. Yeah, 30
Speaker 1
pounds per bulb on 17 bulbs in the kitchen.
Speaker 2
No. And also we have like a downstairs, it's just like a large downstairs area. And it has like three lighting zones. And I know that light wave have like switches like that where you have like three kind of zones for them. Yeah. So yeah, this, this is what I guess I will do for me. I am they do offers. I will have somebody come and install them. Yeah,
Speaker 1
they have that as a happier with that. Just
Speaker 2
because as well, like, I would I want to do all of the light switches in the house with these. And so I figure I can have someone come in one day and change like, I don't know, like, 2010. I don't know how many there are in my house to be honest.
