What if You Were a Scientist?

All of discourse has been filtered through a set of background assumptions given you by the cultural and historical conditions you were born into. Foucot would say that if you could go in time to the seventeenth century and talk to people like hobbs or francis bacon, what you would notice is that they're always trying to make sense of things in terms of resemblances. When one of these epistemes changes, it has a much more transformative effect on the world than when a scientific paradime changes.
