Tertullian's Theology - Is There a Right to Baptism?
Tertullian was a rigorous moralist. And what he's trying to do is argue against this notion that because baptisms were administered very freely in the book of acts, hat they should be administered freely. So you can see this rigorous view of morality and this kind of excessive fear of just rushing into anything. I mean, this is really the reason why tertullian is not considered to be a saint. As much as he has some wonderful writings on things like the flesh of christ, the true humanity of christ - there are some serious issues with his theology.
