Patterns for Web Development

i'm curious why you say explicitly on the site, these designed patterns are descriptive, not prescriptive. We wanted to make sure if we were presenting a modern take on design patterns, we did so with pragmatism. A fundamentally like really good code, or really readable code, is a love letter from yourself to the next programmer. This can be maintaining that code. And if we can make sure your only applying patterns in places where you have recognized there is a problem and other people have been able to apply certain solutions then it hopefully helps future programmers too.
