Celts and the Roman Empire

The Celts had a reputation for being fearsome warriors. Yet still, they wer no match for the power and might of the roman legions. Upon claudiu's orders, forty thousand troops landed in the southeast of england. From then on, many of the tribal leaders had few options other than to work with rather than against their roman conquerors. One such leader was a king of the eastern iceni tribe who continued to rule as an independent ally of Rome.
