The Epicurean idea that human nature strives to be free from pain free from distress. Anything that gets in the way of you achieving that is indeed not worth pursuing. So they cancel people just to give up desiring political ambitions. Not really and I don't think they would even try in fact. That's why they just sat around in their garden.
