An art blogger analyzed the evolution of Van Gogh's color palette over time. He definitely saw he used more yellow in those final years, which is called his yellow period for a reason. Dr. Gachey wrote about testing Van Gogh’s vision. And apparently he used some kind of color wheel that railroad workers would use to make sure they could determine color accurately.
