How to Ascertain if Someone Was in Their Right Mind or Insane at the Time of an Offence
The key is to get as much relevant evidence as possible. It's quite easy for somebody to sit there and say I was hearing voices or I was paranoid. The other thing, and this can be actually quite entertaining, is they try too hard to convince me. They're not very good actors. And people that are genuinely unwell, it's a lot harder to elicit those symptoms. You have to really push past the surface and look at their behaviour.
