The Crisis of Economic Knowledge or Political Representation
The technological and economic forces that created this widely shared prosperity in the economy were I think temporary. If we are not to go back as many fear to a sort of quasi-feudal structure, if you like, a society in which a small proportion of the people generate from it such a vast income stream is not what we're seeing yet at all. What we're seeing now is that they with this new professional middle class dominate completely the society. We have to be agnostic on whether the economy is really going to help us and at the moment it isn't really doing so.
