When Things Don't Match Up, You Remember Better
When we're conversing, I'm making guesses about what you're going to say. And if I get things that I expect, then I don't pay much more attention. So like a little earlier, I said something that wasn't right. And then I said something really, really different, so different that it was wrong. We remember things better because they're different from what we were expecting. Exactly. One of the real joys in this is that you can find really wonderful ways of expressing things that somehow give you a little bit of joy every time you see themBecause they are so good.
