The Interconnected Mediterranean
In the 8th and 7th centuries BC, intense changes were happening all across Greece. This was also the time when political institutions were coming into being. The region of Greece that had shown the strongest connections with the Levant for a couple of centuries is called Ubeya. Eretria just a little ways down the coast soon took its place as a major point of contact between the Aegean and the Levant.
