Are people still dying of COVID like in the beginning? The answer to that is absolutely not. We are nowhere near the peak numbers of reported cases, we aren't reporting cases. I still put it into my bucket of things that I worry about and am concerned about from an infectious disease perspective. And so still an important pathogen in our world, not novel anymore, but certainly not benign enough that I think of it as a new normal.
